the museum of arts & design, nyc...

so a few weeks ago, the museum of arts & design had its 1-year anniversary celebration, and part of that involved a collection of paper dresses designed by a variety of designers around the city, including jeffrey. of course, being such a low priority relative to the real clothing he designs, it was my responsibility to put the thing together, which i present to you now:

this post is long overdue, and i apologize. in my defense, i've had a lot on my mind recently.

first of all, i've decided to stay in fashion indefinitely. as you know, this has been a big question mark in my life for...well, i suppose most of my life. however, during the past few weeks, i've realized that i LOVE what i do. i think the fact that i'm able to say that is something that shouldn't be ignored. i know i posted many months ago that i was through with fashion because i was disgusted at how low the industry had sunk sacrificing quality for profit, but after working with jeffrey i can see that it doesn't have to be this way.

last wednesday, we shot the spring collection in an old factory in brooklyn that was converted into an artist's loft--very hip, no? unfortunately, the original plans to shoot the collection at the whitney museum fell through. once we do the final edit, i PROMISE i'll post the pictures to show you guys what i've been working on for the past 3 months, including the final samples of the shoes you guys have been waiting for.

i do have some other pictures for you guys, however. brace yourselves...last night, i went to the SUFJAN STEVENS CONCERT at the music hall of williamsburg (aka hipster central). how did i manage to get in, you ask? the manager of the venue is the husband of our co-worker, jeffrey's sales director, melinda wansbrough. they all have apparently been friends for many years and jeffrey's even godfather to melinda's 3-year-old son, hugo. now that i'm friends with them too, i basically get put on the guest list for any show i want to go to. love it! now, without further ado...all 2 pictures i took last night on my iphone:

of course, the concert was incredible. my favorite song he performed last night was a new one. here's a video of it:

in other news, i've been checking out a new church that my friend brought me to recently called good news church. it meets in an old chapel much like duke's, which is a welcome change from the typical high school auditorium most modern manhattan churches meet in. most importantly, i like the sermons. perhaps most interesting however, is the fact that i've never felt more welcome in a church before...and most of the members are KOREAN. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?! thus, i thought it was worth a closer look. so far, my impressions have been consistent from week to week.

anyway, now that i've made the decision to stay in fashion, i feel like this is a turning point in my very young life. thus, i've also decided that this will be a turning point in my blog, as well. for one thing, i've added a couple of new modules to the right of my blog, so check them out. they will continue to be updated. also, i may decide to alter the focus of this blog. until now, i've used this platform to update you guys on the things that were happening in my life and to share various random thoughts. while this will undoubtably continue, i may decide to begin sharing some other, yet undetermined, content...
