when the seagulls...

follow the trawler, it is because they think that sardines will be thrown into the sea.

sometimes i forget that manhattan is an island...until i look up and sea the seagulls floating above.

anyway, i have much to report!

first of all, there's this very yuppie deli near work that sells various foodstuffs imported from spain, in which I discovered some great chocolate:

forget about godiva and lindt and all those other "good" chocolate houses you've heard of. valor is miles ahead...and i don't even like chocolate that much.

second, i SO want to see this movie when it comes out. it looks like it's going to be the best film of the year in, my professional opinion:

third, we had a member of the rothschild dynasty come in to the studio to shop on friday. we were hoping she would buy everything but she only spent $1000. cheapo.

finally, i found out today that KANYE WEST's clothing label pastelle used to have its studio RIGHT ABOVE jeffrey's. one time, there was a lot of noise coming from above so jeffrey went up to see what it was and it turned out to be 4 of kanye's friends playing wii on a flatscreen tv that supposedly was as big as the entire wall.

that is all.

i never thought this day would come...

MY METABOLISM IS SLOWING DOWN!

in other news, i'm leaning towards the job with jeffrey.

psalm 37:25

"i was young and now i am old,
yet i have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread."

le jour heureux de bastille!

allow me to apologize for the tardiness of this post. first off, the first sample of the shoe i sculpted finally arrived at the office today and here it is:

much better than the masking tape version, no? some adjustments will be made and then they'll be sent back for a second sample. there's also going to be a heel version with a tie in the back.

in other news, just as i was starting to get discouraged by my fruitless job search, God proved His faithfulness yet again and provided me with TWO offers today. first, remember when i said jeffrey wanted to hire me but he didn't have the money to pay me? well, he talked with his financial backer over the weekend, and they've worked it out so that i can be hired! second, i got an offer for a luxury real estate agent/analyst with blackstone, one of the largest investment firms in the country. since both are so different, i'm having a hard time deciding.

of course, both would simply be stepping stones to something greater after about 2 years and a common long-term goal of managing my own company (something related to design, perhaps interiors). although i said that i'm probably leaving fashion, i would stay with jeffrey only because we've built a good working relationship, and i truly believe in his brand. mark my words, he's going to be big some day. BIG. like israel kamakawiwo'ole big.

with jeffrey, i'd be working 40-50 hours/week for the typical entry-level assistant designer salary of $30,000/year. with blackstone, i'd be working 80+ hours/week for $150,000/year. what do i do?!

okay, time for a midnight snack...
